Badgers are loved all around the world and in the UK they are protected to some extent. These beloved furry animals live mostly secret lives, away from the hustle and bustle of the world, in their underground burrows. They live with their families and have a strong sense of community. They have an super sensitive sense of smell - 800 times more than us! They keep their homes clean and cosy, replacing their beds with clean leaves & grass daily. Badger setts can be over 100 years old - passed down through generations of badgers.
As they spend most of their time underground we rarely get to see these lovable animals, but they still need our help (for example badger hair is still used widely in cosmetic brushes).

"I’ve always loved animals & have been drawing them as far back as I can recall, dragging wildlife encyclopedias around with me as a small child.
Rediscovering this passion as an adult brings me full circle & I love the fact that I’m able to keep the entire process in-house.
From a simple sketch I can bring the animal to life with the use of stitch types, angles & thread colour choices - embroidery digitizing is an art in itself & I absolutely love doing this part of the process.
With each design I try to capture the spirit of the animal and I hope you can feel this too."
